Tempe is a traditional food which has been known centuries ago when the word tempe was found on Centini manuscript in 1875 - Tempe is made of soybean, the nutrient compositions of tempe from protein, fat, and carbohydrate does not change much from that of soybean. However, due to fermentation process, the nutrient of tempe is more easily digested, absorbed, and utilized by our bodies compared to the nutrient in soybean.
Soybean Compositions: Protein 35-35%, fat 18-32%, Carbohydrate 12-30%, Water 7%.
